About 20 Tower employees will be affected when the insurance company shuts its Christchurch office.
The move will happen once its remaining earthquake claims are settled.
A spokesman told media the company had planned to close the office as part of a nationwide consolidation in 2011, but decided to keep it open after the tremors struck.
He said the company planned to be a "leading digital insurer" and would be able to provide full services to customers remotely.
