Question...

Is a "fuel card" deemed to be the same as a "credit card" ? Client has had a fuel card stolen and used. We are trying to put a claim under a crime policy but there is not definition under the policy for what a credit card is deemed to be under the policy.

The law is that words not specially defined in a policy are given their ordinary dictionary meaning (as a starting point).

The Collins English Dictionary defines 'credit card' as: "a card issued by banks, businesses, etc, enabling the holder to obtain goods and services on credit"

So long as the fuel card provides credit (and is not a debit card only) then it seems to fit the definition.
