• Confirmation of FMA levies 2021 onwards

Following the review of the Financial Markets Authority funding earlier this year, the Government announced an increase to the FMA’s funding to reflect the expansion of the FMA’s remit and responsibilities.  In May, the Government confirmed the levy amounts for the 2020/21 financial year. Today, the Government has confirmed the further levy amounts.

This funding update covers the levy amounts for the 2021/22 and 2022/23 financial years, and the outyears. It also covers the levy amounts for the new Financial Advice regime, which commences on 15 March 2021. The new levies, along with further details about the funding increase, are available on MBIE’s website: https://www.mbie.govt.nz/about/news/changes-to-fma-levies/.
